Not too sold on the bg, lol. Anyway, I tried doing Q'dar vector style since I drew a LOT of Roz (you should see my sketch book). Although lately I haven't had time to draw at all!
So for sanity's sake (I need my outlet darn it!) I did this. Q'dar looking back at his homeworld, I suppose?
First off, you should definitely stick with the vector style... I LOVE IT! Forget about the bg, we get to see his planet from afar, and how often do you get to say that. I really enjoy his crown in general, the style of it, the way it connects to his face, how it effectively holds back his mane of hair. Green is good!
Mm. This drawing makes me think those are definitely dredlocks on his head. At least they look more like dredlocks. I do like the vectory style. My one suggestion would be that from a distance (or the small preview view) the colors look muddy because they're in the same tonal range. Close up I can see highlight and shadow. but I'm fond of more extreme color ranges personally, so I'm always the one to say push it to darker darks and lighter lights!
Thank you very much! I guess I'll eventually have to name the crown since it's pretty darn important, keeping his brain together and all. I'll have to put some letters together...like...Yikku or...something...lol
Yay for getting better on the dredlocks! Hmm, I can see what you're saying. Maybe next time I draw him I'll go for the EXTREME! (that word seems to scream to be in all caps.) Thanks very much!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
